History of the Hittites

Imagine you are living in a really old time, where there are no TVs, no cars, and no schools yet. There is a group of people called the Hittites who lived in what is now modern-day Turkey. They were very special because they were very good at making things from metal, especially iron, which was very important back then.

The Hittites were also very good at fighting, which was not very nice, but it helped them to be stronger and protect their land. They had a king who was in charge and made all the important decisions. His name was Hattusili, and he was a very important person.

The Hittites lived during a time when there were many other groups of people around, like the Babylonians and Egyptians. They would often fight with these other groups to protect their land and their people. The Hittites also had very smart people called scribes who would write down everything that happened in the kingdom, so they could remember it later.

One famous story of the Hittites is about a great battle that they had with the Egyptians. The Hittites won this battle, even though they were outnumbered! This was a huge victory for them, and it made the Hittites even stronger.

Even though the Hittites were very powerful and had many great accomplishments, they eventually disappeared. Their kingdom was destroyed by other groups who came and took over the land. But we still remember the Hittites and how they were very smart and strong, and we can learn from them even today!
