History of the Social Democratic Party of Germany

The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) is the oldest and biggest political party in the country. It was founded in the late 19th century by a group of people who wanted to bring about change in Germany – they wanted to improve the lives of everyday people and make sure that everyone had access to the same rights and opportunities. The SPD fought for better working conditions, more education and better healthcare for all people.
