Hit-and-run posting

Hit-and-run posting is when someone leaves a message or a comment on the Internet, but then quickly deletes it before anyone can see or respond to it. It’s similar to when a driver hits a car or a person and then runs away without taking responsibility.

Just like a hit-and-run driver, the person who does a hit-and-run post doesn't want to be caught or held accountable. They might say something mean, inappropriate, or false, and then delete it so they don't have to face any consequences or reactions from others.

However, this behavior is not acceptable because it can hurt other people's feelings or cause harm. It's important to think before you post, and if you do make a mistake, own up to it and apologize.
