Hodograph

A hodograph is a chart that shows how the wind moves up in the sky. It's kind of like looking at a map of the wind. Just like when you draw a line to show where you walked from point A to point B, a hodograph shows the wind's path from one point in the sky to another. The chart has two axes, one horizontal and one vertical. The horizontal axis shows the direction the wind is blowing from and the vertical axis shows how fast the wind is blowing. By looking at the hodograph you can understand how the wind is moving up in the sky and predict whether a severe storm might occur. It may sound complicated but it's super helpful for meteorologists to understand the weather patterns that are happening in the atmosphere.
