Home care in the United States

Home care in the United States means that some people can get help with things they need to do at home. This is for people who are sick, have an injury or disability, or just need some extra help. Home care helps people stay in their homes and not have to go to a hospital or nursing home.

Home care workers, also called caregivers, go to people’s homes and help them with things like bathing, dressing, and making food. They might also help with medicine, exercise, and cleaning the house. Home care workers can be hired by the person who needs care or by their family.

To get home care, people need to speak to a doctor or nurse first. The doctor or nurse will talk to them about what kind of care they need and how often they need it. Then, the doctor or nurse will make a plan for the home care worker to follow. The person getting care or their family will then hire a home care agency to find the right worker.

Home care is important because it helps people stay in their homes and maintain their independence. It also allows them to continue living with their families and friends. Home care can be cheaper than going to a hospital or nursing home.
