Hong Kong rainstorm warning signals

Hey there! Did you know that in Hong Kong, when heavy rain is expected, the government has a system for warning people about it? It's called the Rainstorm Warning System, and it uses different signals to let people know how bad the rain is going to be.

There are four levels of signals in the Rainstorm Warning System: Amber, Red, Black, and Special. Each level corresponds to a different amount of rainfall and potential danger.

Let's start with the Amber signal. This is the first level of warning, and it means that there is light to moderate rain expected. You should still be careful, but you don't need to panic. Just make sure you have an umbrella or raincoat with you if you need to go outside.

If the rain gets heavier, the next level of warning is the Red signal. This means that there is heavy rain, and it could be dangerous. You should avoid going outside if possible, and stay in a safe place until the rain passes.

But what if the rain gets even worse? That's where the Black signal comes in. This is the most severe level of warning, and it means that there is very heavy rain, with a high risk of flooding and landslides. If you see the Black signal, you should stay inside and avoid going out unless it's absolutely necessary.

Finally, there's the Special signal. This is used in rare cases when the threat from the rain is extremely severe, such as during a typhoon. If you see the Special signal, you should take immediate action to protect yourself and your family, and follow instructions from the government and emergency services.

So there you have it - the Rainstorm Warning System in Hong Kong. Remember, always be prepared for heavy rain, and stay safe!
