Hook turn

A hook turn is a special way of making a right turn when you're driving on the right side of the road. Instead of turning right like you normally would by maneuvering your car into the far right lane, you move into the left lane and wait there until it is safe to turn right. It's like playing a game of "red light, green light" with your car, and waiting until the light turns green for you to make your turn. This type of turn is usually used in places where there isn't enough space for a turning lane or a right-hand turn lane, so it helps keep traffic moving smoothly and safely. Think of it like waiting your turn to jump into the pool – you have to wait until it's safe and other people are out of the way before you can dive in!
