Host adapter

A host adapter is like a translator between two different kinds of things. It lets two things that don't understand each other communicate. For example, your computer might have a USB port and a monitor might have a DisplayPort. Those two things don't understand each other, so a host adapter would act as a translator. It translates the information from the USB port and makes it understandable by the DisplayPort. That way, you can use your monitor with your computer.
