Host cell protein

Okay kiddo, so when we talk about host cell protein, we are talking about little parts or pieces that can be found inside the cells of your body, or any living thing really.

Now, these little pieces can sometimes be helpful to us, like our body's proteins that help us grow big and strong, but they can also be not so helpful if they get into our medicine or vaccines that we take.

When we make medicine or vaccines, we use things called living cells to help make them. Sometimes, these little pesky host cell proteins can get in there too, but we don't want them to be in our medicine or vaccines because they can cause problems. That's why scientists work hard to find ways to remove or remove any harmful host cell proteins from the medicine or vaccines we take.

So, in summary, host cell proteins are tiny pieces that we try to keep out of our medicine and vaccines because they can cause problems.
