The hours of work (industry) convention of 1919 was an agreement made between different countries to limit the number of hours people had to work in a certain industry. This agreement said that each country would make sure that people working in industry would only have to work 8 hours in one day. Eight hours was the maximum amount of time people could have to work, but employers could still choose to have workers work less than 8 hours if they wanted. This helped give people working in industries more time to relax and have a better work/life balance.
