House of Commons of the United Kingdom

The House of Commons in the United Kingdom is like a really big class of kids. There are lots of kids in the class and they all come from different parts of the country. They all have different ideas about what is good for their families and the country they live in.

The kids in the class are called Members of Parliament or MPs for short. They are responsible for making laws and deciding how the country should be run.

When the MPs go to Parliament, they sit in a big room called the House of Commons. It's like a huge classroom with lots of chairs where the MPs sit. They listen to each other's ideas and decide how to vote on different issues. When they agree on something, it becomes a law that the country has to follow.

Just like in a class, there is also a teacher or leader who helps things run smoothly. In the House of Commons, this person is called the Speaker of the House.

So, just like in a big class of kids, the House of Commons is where MPs come together to talk and make decisions about how the country should be run.
