Human Y chromosome DNA haplogroups

Okay kiddo, so you know how boys and girls are different right? Well, there's something inside the bodies of boys that's kinda like a secret code that tells us where their ancestors come from. We call this code the Y chromosome.

Now, over time, this secret code has changed a little bit, and scientists have found that lots of boys actually share similar codes. They group these codes together and call them haplogroups.

So, basically, haplogroups are groupings of boys with similar secret codes on their Y chromosomes, giving us clues about where their ancestors might have come from. It's kinda like having a secret code club with your friends that only you guys know.
