Humboldt Bay

Humboldt Bay is a big bay, like a giant puddle, located in northern California. It's surrounded by land and is connected to the Pacific Ocean through a narrow channel called a harbor. The harbor is like a door that lets the ocean water come in and out of the bay.

Lots of animals like to live in and around Humboldt Bay, like fish, crabs, seals, and birds. Some people even like to go fishing or kayaking there!

The bay is also important for people because it helps to bring goods and materials into the area, like food and clothing, through boats that use the harbor. People also use the bay for fun things like swimming or boating.

People who live near Humboldt Bay have to be careful about keeping it clean and healthy for plants and animals to live there. They can do this by picking up trash, being careful not to use too many chemicals, and making sure the animals aren't being disturbed too much. This way, everyone can enjoy Humboldt Bay for a long time!
