ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hurst exponent

A Hurst Exponent is a number used to measure patterns in data. It measures how often the pattern is repeating itself and how predictable something is. For example, if you have a line of numbers that keep going up and down in the same pattern, the Hurst Exponent would tell you how often the pattern is repeating and if it is likely to continue in the future.
