Hydraulic engineering of the Indus Valley Civilization

Hydraulic engineering is when people use water to help them do things. The Indus Valley Civilization was a long time ago when people lived near the Indus River. They made big canals and walls to control the water from the river. They dug deep wells in the ground to get water for their crops and houses. They used the water force to help them grind things like grain for food. They also built special pools to store extra water for when there was no rain. All these things helped the people of the Indus Valley Civilization to live and grow food in a place where water was very important. They were super good at working with water!
