Hype (marketing)

Okay kiddo, let's talk about hype in marketing. You know when you see commercials or ads on TV, social media or magazines about a new toy or a game that is coming out and they make it sound really, really cool? That's what we call hype. Hype is when someone tries to make something seem really exciting and amazing so that people will want to buy it or use it.

It's like when your friends start talking about a new video game that's coming out and how it's going to be the best one ever. So, even if you've never heard of that game before, you suddenly want to get it because everyone is talking about it and it sounds like it's going to be so much fun. That's the power of hype!!

Some companies and businesses use hype to sell their products or services. But, sometimes, they can exaggerate, or stretch the truth a little to make their product seem better than it really is. This can sometimes trick people into buying something that they don't really want or need.

So, it's important to remember that not everything that's hyped up is as amazing as it seems. You should always do your own research and ask yourself if you really need or want the thing that's being marketed, before you go out and buy it.
