Hypopnea

Hypopnea is when you are breathing really shallowly while you sleep. You might not even know it is happening! When you breathe shallowly like this, it can lead to not getting enough air into your body. This can sometimes happen because your airway gets blocked, like when you have a cold or allergies. It can also happen if you have a condition called sleep apnea, where you actually stop breathing for brief periods of time while you sleep. This can be scary and make you feel tired during the day, so it's important to talk to a doctor if you think you might have hypopnea or sleep apnea.
