IBM and the Holocaust
Okay kiddo, so a long time ago there was a company called IBM. They made really cool machines called computers that helped people do complicated things like counting a lot of numbers really fast.
But during a really bad time in history called the Holocaust, some people in charge of a country called Nazi Germany wanted to hurt a lot of people who were Jewish. They needed a way to know who was Jewish and where they lived, and they thought the computers made by IBM could help them do that.
So, IBM made special machines that Nazi Germany used to make lists of people who were Jewish and where they lived. This helped them find the Jewish people and hurt them. A lot of people were hurt and killed because of the lists made by IBM's machines.
This was really, really bad. IBM has apologized for what they did and said they would never do something like that again. It's important to remember that we should always use technology to help people and make the world a better place, not to hurt each other.
