ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

ISO 5776

ISO 5776 is a special set of rules that was created to make sure that the size and shape of different parts of shoes are consistent all over the world. This means that no matter where you buy your shoes, they should fit the same and feel just right on your feet!

Imagine you have a puzzle where the pieces are different sizes and shapes. It would be really hard to put together, right? The same goes for making shoes. If every shoe company made their shoes differently, it would be really hard for your feet to find the right fit. This is why ISO 5776 was created - to make sure that shoes are made with similar sizes and shapes all over the world.

The rules in ISO 5776 require shoe companies to measure things like the length, width, and thickness of different parts of their shoes. Not only that, they have to use the same tools and methods to measure so that everyone is doing it the same way. This helps them create shoes that fit well no matter where they're made or sold.

So, thanks to ISO 5776, you can be sure that your new shoes will fit nice and snug on your feet!
