ISO 9241 is a very big group of rules that help people make things that are easy to use.
Let's imagine you have a toy that you really like to play with, but it's hard to move the buttons or turn it on because they're too small, or you can't figure out what they do. Or maybe the toy makes noises that are too loud and hurt your ears. These kinds of things can make it hard for you to enjoy your toy.
Now imagine that the people who made the toy followed the rules of ISO 9241. They would think very carefully about how big the buttons should be, and what shapes they should have to make them easy and comfortable to press. They would make sure that the instructions for how to use the toy are easy to understand, with pictures or words that you can easily see and read. And they would make sure that the sounds the toy makes are not too loud or upsetting.
In fact, the rules of ISO 9241 are used to make all kinds of things, not just toys. They're used to make computers, cars, telephones, and lots of other things that we use every day. So if you ever use something and it seems really easy to use and understand, it's probably because someone followed the rules of ISO 9241!
