ISO/TC 223 Societal Security

Okay kiddo, so have you heard about something called "society" and how people live in it? Yes? Great! So, let me tell you that keeping this society safe and secure is very important. And that's what ISO/TC 223 is all about!

ISO/TC 223 stands for "International Organization for Standardization - Technical Committee 223." Now, don't worry about these big words, just think of it like a group of people who come together to create rules that make sure society is protected from all kinds of threats.

You see, there are different types of risks like natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes, and man-made threats like terrorist attacks, cyber-attacks, and crime. ISO/TC 223 has various experts from around the world who work together to understand these risks, and create standard rules that governments and organizations can use to prevent them from happening or reduce their impact.

For example, one of the standards they created is called ISO 22301 which helps organizations like businesses, hospitals, and governments prepare for and recover from disasters. It tells them what to do before, during, and after a disaster strikes to keep people safe, keep the business running, and get things back to normal as soon as possible.

Overall, ISO/TC 223 is like a Lego set for protecting society. Just like how we follow instructions to build a cool Lego castle, countries and organizations follow the rules set by ISO/TC 223 to build a safe and secure society!
