Iapygians
So, long long ago, there were some people called iapygians who lived in a place called Italy. They were kind of like a family of people who all lived together and had the same customs and language. They were very proud of who they were and where they came from.
The iapygians had their own special way of doing things, like the food they ate and the clothes they wore. They also had a special way of talking that only they could understand. They were like their own little club!
But over time, other people started coming to Italy and moving in on iapygian land. These people had different ways of doing things and different languages, so they didn't really get along with the iapygians.
Eventually, the iapygians kind of disappeared and their culture and language were lost. But people still study and try to learn about them today so that we can understand more about what life was like a long long time ago.
