An ice-sheet model is a computer program that scientists use to figure out how much ice is on the Earth's surface, and how it might change in the future. Ice-sheet models work by looking at information from satellites, ice cores, and records from weather stations. They use this information to make estimates about how much ice is on the Earth's surface today, and how that ice might move around in the future. Scientists use these models to help understand how climate change is affecting our planet.
