Ignition interlock device

Okay kiddo, an ignition interlock device is a special device that is put in a car to make sure a grown-up driver is sober before they can start the car. It’s like a little computer that connects to the car and the driver’s breath.

When the grown-up driver wants to start the car, they have to blow their breath into a special tube on the device. The device can tell if the driver has been drinking alcohol, and if they have, the car won’t start.

But if the driver’s breath doesn’t have any alcohol in it, then the car will start and they can drive safely. The device also makes the driver blow into the tube while they are driving, so it can make sure they stay sober the whole time they are driving.

This device is really important for grown-up drivers who have been in trouble before for drinking and driving. It helps keep them and everyone else on the road safe, because they can’t start the car if they’re not sober.
