Illuminance

Have you ever noticed that some places are brighter than others? Illuminance is like a big word that people use to describe how bright a place is. It is like when you turn on a light in a room, and suddenly everything becomes visible.

Imagine you are inside a room with a lot of windows, where you can see everything outside. This room will be brighter during the day because the sun is shining and providing light. However, at night, the brightness will be less because there are no lights inside the room.

Now let's say you have two flashlights, one with a small light and one with a big light. If you turn on the flashlight with the big light, it will shine brighter, right? That's because it has more illuminance, which is like the amount of light that comes out of the flashlight.

The illuminance of a room is like measuring how bright it is. A room with a lot of windows will have more illuminance during the day, but it will still have some illuminance at night when the lights are turned on.

So, next time you are in a bright room, think about illuminance and how it helps us see things clearly!
