Illuminationism

Okay kiddo, so illuminationism is a fancy word for a way of thinking that started a long long time ago. Some very smart people back then believed that we can only truly understand the world around us if we use our minds to think really hard and see things in a different way.

They believed that if we use our minds to think about things and go really deep, we can learn new things about the world that we couldn't see before. They called this "illumination" because it means shining a light on something to see it more clearly.

So instead of just accepting what we're told or seeing things at face value, these smart people believed that we should use our own brains to discover new things about the world around us. This way of thinking led to some pretty important discoveries and ideas that helped shape the world we live in today!
