ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Image retrieval

Image retrieval is like a game of hide and seek. We can use it to find pictures we've taken or seen before. Say you have thousands of photos of cats stored on your computer—image retrieval is like using a special kind of program to help you find a certain cat photo you're looking for! The program works like a search engine. You type in some keywords, like "black-and-white cat," and the program will look through all of your cat photos to find ones that match the keywords. It's like using a detective's magnifying glass to find a single photo hiding among thousands of others!
