ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Imaging science

Imaging science is the study of how to capture, reproduce, store and present images. This includes photography, video, medical imaging and computer graphics. Imaging science looks at ways to make images clearer and sharper, as well as ways of making them bigger or smaller. It also looks at the different colours that can be used in images and how to make the colours look realistic. A great way to think about imaging science is like a puzzle - scientists look at how different pieces fit together to create something beautiful and realistic.
