ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Imbrex and tegula

Imagine building a house with blocks. You want to make sure the roof doesn't let any rain or water inside. So, you use special blocks on the roof called imbrex and tegula.

Imbrex is a clay block that looks like a half pipe. It's designed to keep the water from seeping in between the blocks. Tegula, on the other hand, is a curved clay block that is placed on top of the imbrex to create a smooth surface for the roof.

Together, imbrex and tegula work like a puzzle. They fit together tightly to create a barrier that stops water from soaking into the roof. This makes your house nice and dry even when it rains.

Overall, imbrex and tegula are important parts of making a roof that not only looks good but also functions well. They help protect your home from water damage and keep your family safe and dry.
