Imitation (music)

Imitation in music is when one musician makes a musical sound or pattern and then another musician copies it. It's kind of like playing a game of "Simon Says" with music!

For example, if one musician plays a little tune on their guitar, the other musician might listen carefully and then play the same tune on their own guitar.

Imitation is a way for musicians to work together and create interesting music by building off of each other's ideas. It's like saying "yes, I like what you did there, let me add my own twist to it!"
