ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Immunization

Immunization is a way of protecting your body against germs called “germs.” When you get immunized, it helps your body build up defenses against these germs, so that if they try to make you sick, your body can stop them. Getting immunized is like getting a vaccination (sometimes called a shot or an injection), which is when a doctor or nurse gives you a special medicine that helps your body fight the germs. The medicine helps your body remember the germs so that it can fight them off if they try to make you sick.
