Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the environment

Covid-19 is a pandemic, which means it has been spreading all over the world and has had a huge impact on our environment. Since people have been spending more time at home and travelling less, some of the air pollution levels have decreased. That’s a good thing because air pollution is unhealthy for us to breathe in. But the decrease in air pollution has also been bad in some ways. For example, because fewer people are burning fossil fuels, like gas and coal, less money has been made from those industries and that means fewer jobs. Furthermore, since so many people are not able to go to work, there is a lot of garbage and waste being thrown away, which can be detrimental to our oceans and wildlife. Lastly, the virus has spread to so many animals, like chickens and cows, which can be dangerous to the environment.
