Impeachment investigation

Impeachment is a process that the U.S. Congress uses to hold people, like the President, accountable for improper behavior. When Congress thinks someone in a high position has done something wrong, like breaking the law, they can start an impeachment investigation. This is like an official fact-finding process where Congress looks into evidence and decides whether they think what happened was bad enough to stop the person from holding their position. If Congress decides it was, a trial is held and the person facing impeachment can be forced to leave their job.
