Imperial German plans for the invasion of the United States
Okay kiddo, today we are going to learn about a time when Germany and the United States were not getting along. You see, a long time ago, in a time called World War I, there were two groups of countries that were fighting against each other, and Germany was part of one of those groups.
Now, Germany was not very happy with the United States because the United States was helping out the other group of countries. So, Germany started thinking about what it would do if it ever had to fight the United States.
Some of the leaders in Germany started making plans for an invasion of the United States. They wanted to be able to come over here, take over some of our land, and show us who was boss.
But these plans were really complicated, kiddo. They would involve building a big navy to get all the soldiers and supplies across the ocean to the United States. They would also need to build a lot of big guns and planes to fight against the United States’ military.
It was going to be really hard because the United States is such a big and powerful country, but Germany wanted to try. However, they never actually went through with their plans because they realized it was too difficult to defeat the United States.
So, the good news is, we never had to worry about an invasion from Germany. But we can still learn from history and remember to be kind and peaceful to other countries whenever possible.
