Imperialism is when a powerful country takes over another country for their own benefit. This usually happens when a rich country with lots of resources (like money, land and natural resources) wants to have more control over other places, or when a country has a lot of people who need a place to live or a place to work. During imperialism, the powerful country uses its power and resources to control and take advantage of the weaker country. This is called colonialism. Capitalism is an economic system where people are allowed to buy and sell business and products for a profit. Imperialism, the highest stage of capitalism, is when a wealthy country uses its economic, military and political power to extend its control over other countries and their resources. For example, they may force a weaker country to accept their laws and policies, or they may exploit the weaker country's natural resources. Imperialism is often seen as a way for the powerful country to gain wealth and power.
