Impression formation

Hey there kiddo! Have you ever looked at someone and formed an opinion about them right away? Maybe you thought they were mean because they were frowning or maybe you thought they were friendly because they were smiling. That's called impression formation!

Impression formation is when we form an idea or opinion about someone based on certain things that we notice about them. It's like putting together a puzzle or building blocks. We collect pieces of information about a person, such as how they look, what they say, and how they act, and use those pieces to create an overall picture of who they are in our minds.

Sometimes we can be very quick to form impressions, especially if we are in a hurry or meeting someone for the first time. But other times, we might take our time and really get to know someone before forming an impression.

It's important to remember that first impressions aren't always accurate. Just because someone looks sad or angry at first doesn't mean they're actually mean or unfriendly. Sometimes people just have a bad day or a bad moment.

That's why it's important to give people a chance and get to know them better before forming a final opinion about them. You never know, they might surprise you!
