Okay kiddo, you know how we can use our eyes to look at things and remember what they look like? Well, cameras are like special machines that do the same thing! When you take a picture with a camera, it uses a special lens to focus the light that comes into it, just like how our eyes focus light.
Once the light is focused, it goes into a sensor in the camera that turns it into an image that we can save and look at later. The sensor is like a piece of paper that the camera uses to copy the picture it sees.
But cameras can also do lots of cool things that our eyes can't! They can zoom in and out to make things look closer or farther away, they can adjust how bright or dark a picture looks, and they can even take pictures in the dark by using a special flash or by making the sensor more sensitive to light.
So cameras are like little helpers that can take pictures for us and help us remember all the amazing things we see in the world!
