ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Independent practice association

Imagine you are part of a big group of kids who want to play together. But maybe not all of you want to play the exact same game. Maybe some want to play kickball, while others want to play tag. So instead of trying to force everyone to play the same game, you decide to split up into smaller groups based on what game each person wants to play.

An Independent Practice Association works similarly. It's a group of doctors who come together to form their own group. Each doctor is like a kid who wants to play a different game. Instead of trying to make all the doctors work the same way, they can each work independently but still be part of the same bigger group.

This allows each doctor to have their own style and do things their own way, but still be able to work with other doctors in the association to provide better care for their patients. Just like how the kids split up into smaller groups to play different games, the doctors in an IPA can work independently but still be part of a bigger group to make healthcare better for everyone involved.
