Indian Airlines Flight 814

In the year 1999, there was a plane from India called Indian Airlines Flight 814. This plane was traveling from Nepal to India with many passengers on board. But something bad happened while the airplane was flying.

Some people who were really mean and wanted to cause trouble took over the airplane. This means they got inside the airplane and wouldn't let anyone else go inside or leave it. These people are called terrorists.

The terrorists had guns and bombs with them. They told the pilots of the airplane that they wanted to go to another country called Afghanistan and they wouldn't let anyone else go unless they did what they said. This was really scary for everyone on the airplane.

The Indian government tried to negotiate with the terrorists and they finally agreed to let the passengers go. But they still didn't let the airplane and its crew go. The airplane flew to Dubai and then to Kandahar in Afghanistan, which was controlled by the Taliban, a really bad group of people who were also terrorists.

For several days, the passengers were held captive in the airplane, and after some negotiations, the terrorists released some passengers. But they still wanted their demands to be met.

After long discussions and negotiations, the Indian government finally met the demands of the terrorists, and they released the remaining hostages after almost a week.

This was a very scary and sad event, but luckily, everyone survived. It is important to remember that we should always try our best to keep ourselves safe and help others who are in danger.
