Indian Ocean slave trade

The Indian Ocean slave trade was a cruel and tragic event in history. It happened between the 1500s and 1800s, where people from African lands were forced to leave their homes and travel to faraway lands like India, China, and Indonesia, where they were sold as slaves. Most of these people were taken against their will and had no way to come back home. They were forced to work hard jobs like digging for gold, building roads, farming, and more. They were poorly treated and had no freedom or rights. Sadly, the slave trade still goes on in some parts of the world today, but it's not as bad as it used to be.
