Indigenous Futurism

"Indigenous Futurism" is a way of thinking about the future from the perspective of Native or Indigenous peoples. It's a way of imagining what life might be like in the future, based on traditional knowledge and beliefs.

Indigenous people have a rich history and culture that is often overlooked or ignored by the rest of the world. Indigenous Futurism imagines a future where Indigenous culture and traditions are celebrated and respected. This can include things like using traditional art or storytelling to imagine new technologies or imagining a world where Indigenous languages are spoken everywhere.

Indigenous Futurism is also about exploring what might happen if Indigenous communities were able to have more control over their own futures. This can mean imagining ways to protect the environment or create sustainable economies that honor traditional ways of life.

Indigenous Futurism is a really cool and important way of imagining the future because it shows that there are many different ways to think about what's possible. It encourages us to think creatively and outside the box, and to imagine a world where everyone's cultures and traditions are valued and celebrated.
