ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Indigenous psychology

Indigenous psychology is a way of understanding how people think and feel based on the beliefs and practices of different cultures and communities around the world. Just like how we all have our own unique personalities and ways of seeing the world around us, different cultures and communities also have their own unique ways of understanding and dealing with things like emotions, relationships, and mental health.

Indigenous psychology is important because it helps us to understand and respect the diversity of human experience and to learn from the wisdom and knowledge of different cultures. It also helps us to understand the ways in which our own cultural backgrounds can shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Ultimately, indigenous psychology is about recognizing that there are many different ways of being human, and that each of these ways is valuable and deserving of respect and understanding.
