Indigenous religion

Indigenous religion means the beliefs and practices of the people who are native to a certain place or region, like the Native American tribes or the Maori people of New Zealand.

Imagine you have a really special toy that you love and take care of. You might have certain rules for how to play with it, like not throwing it too hard or taking it outside when it's raining. In the same way, these people have special beliefs and ways of living that they follow to make sure they take care of their land, animals and each other.

They might believe in certain gods or spirits that help them in their daily lives, and they might have special rituals or ceremonies to show their respect and appreciation. Just like you might have different traditions in your family, like giving presents on birthdays or eating a special meal on holidays, indigenous people have traditions that help them feel connected to their ancestors and their environment.

However, sometimes people who come from other places might not understand or respect these ways of life, leading to conflicts and issues. That's why it's important to learn about and appreciate different cultures and religions, so we can all live together in harmony.
