When we make biofuels from plants like corn or sugarcane, we need a lot of land to grow them. Sometimes, we can't find enough land to grow all the plants we need, so we start using other land, like forests or grasslands, to grow more plants.
But when we use forests or grasslands to grow more plants for biofuels, we might harm the animals that live there or reduce the amount of carbon they can soak up from the air. This can actually end up making things worse for the environment instead of better, even if we're using a "green" fuel like biofuels.
That's why we need to be careful and make sure that we're not hurting the environment in other ways when we make biofuels.
