ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Inductive inference

Inductive inference helps us make predictions based on what we observe. For example, if you see a person wearing glasses, you might make a prediction that they are nearsighted. This means that their eyesight isn't very good and they need the glasses to help them see better. You can make this prediction based on what you observe without actually testing the person's eyesight. It is a kind of logical thinking that helps us make useful predictions about the world around us.
