ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Industrial action

Industrial action is something that happens when workers decide to take action to show they are unhappy with something. This could be because they are not getting paid enough, they feel like their rights are not being respected, or they simply don't like the way their workplace is being managed. Industrial action can take many forms, from a strike (not going to work) to a work to rule (complete all tasks as specified, but no extra tasks). Industrial action is usually a last resort after all other methods of negotiation have failed, and is intended to put pressure on the employer to meet the workers' demands.
