Infantile esotropia

Infantile esotropia is when a baby's eyes are not looking in the same direction. This means that one eye might be pointing straight ahead, but the other eye might be looking more towards the nose. It can be hard for the baby to see things correctly and it can cause double vision.

This happens because the muscles that control the eyes are not working together like they should. The brain has a hard time figuring out how to use the muscles to make the eyes work together.

Doctors can do things to help with infantile esotropia. They might give the baby glasses to help them see better or they might do surgery to fix the muscles in the eyes. With the help of doctors, babies with infantile esotropia can learn to see things correctly and grow up with healthy eyes.
