Initial conditions

Initial conditions mean the starting point for something. They are like the rules for a game before the game starts. For example, if you were playing a game of checkers, the initial conditions would be that all of the pieces start on the board in the correct places, so that the game can begin. Initial conditions are also used in science when people are trying to understand how the world works – they will set up a set of conditions to start with and then see what changes over time.
