Ino was a character in ancient Greek mythology who was the daughter of a king named Cadmus. She was also the sister of Semele, who was the mother of the god Dionysus.
Now, Ino had a bit of a tough time in her life. Her husband, Athamas, went a little bit crazy and tried to kill their two children. Ino was very worried about her kids and tried to save them by jumping off a cliff into the sea.
But, instead of drowning, Ino was transformed into a sea goddess and given the name Leucothea. She was worshipped by sailors as a protector of the seas and was said to help lost sailors find their way back home.
So, even though Ino went through some tough times, she ended up becoming a powerful goddess who was respected and revered by many.
