Instrument error

Instrument error means that when you use instruments like thermometers or scales to measure something, the instrument can make mistakes. This simply means the instrument was not measuring the exact amount that it should have been. For example, if a thermometer said it was 80°F but the actual temperature was 78°F, that's an example of instrument error.
